When playing a GoVenture Online simulation a message displays that it is missing files and cannot save my sim or submit a report.

This issue applies to Windows-based computers.

When GoVenture starts, a small window should prompt you for permission to download certain files. You must allow this download. Try restarting GoVenture to see if this window appears. If it does appear and you choose to allow the download, GoVenture should be able to save a simulation and submit a report. To verify this is working, jump to step 5 below.

If the window prompting you for permission to download certain files does NOT appear, follow the steps below to manually install 2 missing files from your computer.

(1) Click or copy the following link in your browser to download file

(2) Once downloaded, unzip the file so you can see its two folders: ElectronicInk and updateStageinc.

(3) Copy both of these folders to the following location on your computer:

C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\LocalLow\Macromedia\Shockwave Player\Xtras\Download\

Note that the AppData folder may be a hidden folder, so if you cannot see it, click the Windows Start button then type the following: shell:LocalAppDataLow

(4) Once these files have been copied to the location above, restart GoVenture and you should have access to saving, resuming, and printing.

(5) To verify that the installation was successful, on the main Menu in GoVenture, click the [RESUME Saved Simulation] button. If a window appears asking you to choose a file, then the installation was successful. If you continue to receive the error, repeat the steps above.
